As part of the redevelopment, we are proposing to build 14 commercial units. These will be in a range of sizes to cater for the needs of new businesses or existing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the area that are in need of premises.
We want to provide high quality, flexible and cost effective facilities for businesses to help support the local economy at a time of significant challenge.
We are also proposing the development of a new hotel on site to specifically complement the residential and commercial elements of the scheme. This will have around 65 rooms and will include a separate pub and restaurant.
Quality visitor accommodation is already required locally and demand will continue to grow as the regeneration of Newhaven continues. As well as providing a pub and restaurant for local people, this element of the development will provide more choice for leisure and commercial visitors to Newhaven, including those using the ferry service.
